Last week we had the opportunity to visit the Ritz-Carlton in Bengaluru to attend their annual Christmas lighting ceremony. Although Christmas is more than a month away, their beautiful set up made me feel like it was just around the corner. Desserts being such an integral part of the festivities, it seemed only fitting that I wrote about them.
They had a wonderful selection of desserts; ranging from classics like mince pie and christmas stollen to cupcakes and chocolate mousse. Tasting their moist rum cake with cream took me back to my childhood when rum cake was my favourite dessert and I would eagerly await Christmas time so that I could have my filling of it. Their chocolate pieces in the form of Santa, christmas tress and snowmen were beautiful and perfectly tempered.
Their life-size ginger bread house was delightful; with the option to ice your own name or initials on it. My favourite of the entire selection would have to be their Pie. It was beautifully baked, with a rich filling a perfectly crunchy crust!
For wine lovers their mulled wine sangria was absolutely delicious and perfectly complimented the chilly Bengaluru weather. The cold cuts, starters and main course perfectly complimented the theme of the evening and balanced out the sweetness of the desserts and wine.
